UNICEF and KAIICID (the International Dialogue Centre) are co-organizing a meeting entitled Dimensions of Dialogue: Expanding Social Media as a Space for Constructive Encounter for Young People as a contribution to World Interfaith Harmony Week.

Place: UN (Conference Rm 12)

followed by a Luncheon

The meeting will be structured as two expert panel discussions followed by moderated Q&A. The aim of the meeting is to highlight the importance of engaging youth and technology to encourage harmony, to welcome difference and to condemn violence. The opportunities, needs and challenges faced by young people using social media, particularly in areas affected directly or indirectly by conflict, will be discussed by policy-makers, social media experts and activists. A particular emphasis will be given to the social media engagement of marginalized stakeholders, especially women and youth. KAIICID’s particular experience in the Arab region will be highlighted.

Please note that space is limited and RSVPs are welcomed at your earliest convenience, through this link: https://goo.gl/forms/Pki6Axffc1ANiX1g1 by 5 February. Information regarding ticketing will follow.

UNICEF and KAICIID appreciate the event’s co-sponsorship by the Permanent Mission of Jordan, the Permanent Mission of Austria, the Permanent Mission of Saudi Arabia, the Permanent Mission of Spain and the Permanent Observer Mission of the Holy See to the United Nations.
