The Alliance for Peacebuilding and USAID Local, Faith and Transformative Partnerships Hub invite you to the 2022 Evidence Summit on Impactful Interreligious Action, taking place virtually on December 6 and 7, 2022. This is a free event for all who register.

Many in the humanitarian, development, and peacebuilding (HDP) sectors recognize the important role religious communities, actors, and faith-based organizations (FBOs) play in advancing development goals and building sustainable peace. Religious communities, actors, and FBOs leverage their positions of trust and influence to combine long-standing relationships across the international, national, and local levels with their contextual knowledge. They are also most often the first to reach and longest to remain in hard to access communities given their status as trusted authorities and sources of information, as clearly demonstrated through the COVID-19 pandemic. Thus, religious actors have come to be considered integral partners in advancing development and peacebuilding goals.

The 2022 Evidence Summit on Impactful Inter-Religious Action will provide an opportunity for donors, faith actors and FBOs, practitioners, and policymakers to explore evidence on funding and partnering with local faith actors and FBOs to support more effective, whole-of-society programming and policy by:

  • Building Bridges: Convening religious actors, FBOs, implementing organizations, researchers, academics, and donors to explore shared priorities and develop relationships to broaden networks
  • Fostering Better Design & Evidence-based Evaluation: Gathering and learning about emerging research and perspectives on the impact of inter/multireligious action across the HDP sectors to improve practice and evaluation of inter-religious action
  • Advancing Policy, Practice, and Partnership: Promoting policies, practices, and partnership opportunities that support and are inclusive of religious communities, actors, and FBOs
