UNGA 2018 will be the culmination of two years of engagement with states, civil society, and refugee populations towards adoption of the Global Compacts on Refugees. While the finalization and adoption of the GCR is notable in and of itself, changes for the lives of the 25.4 million refugees living around the world will only be realized through its implementation, at the state and local levels.

As faith-based implementing agencies, Catholic Relief Services, Jesuit Refugee Service/USA, Islamic Relief Worldwide, and the ACT Alliance will speak to the momentousness of the Global Compacts on Refugees and Migration, and how we can successfully move them forward through implementation of projects, and through changes in policies and people. We will offer the discussion through a faith lens and how this lens can both shift and transform our approach to “the least of these.”

Panelists will offer key recommendations for donors, policy makers, and host countries on how to implement the GCR with best practices and new evidence in mind.
