From 2022-2023, the global FPCC initiative, comprising UNICEF, the Joint Learning Initiative on Local Communities, Religions for Peace and other faith-based partners, conducted a multi-country mobile phone survey with nearly 20,000 respondents across 10 countries in Africa, Asia, and Latin America & Caribbean regions.

Among other findings, the survey revealed that support for vaccination increases significantly when respondents believe religious leaders are in favor of it.

To delve deeper into these findings, further qualitative research was conducted in Brazil, Kenya, and Pakistan, focusing on the drivers and barriers to routine immunization for children under five and COVID-19 vaccination among religious communities
