About JLI

An international collaboration on evidence for faith actors’ activities, contributions, and challenges to achieving humanitarian and development goals. Founded in 2012, JLI came together with a single shared conviction: there is an urgent need to build our collective understanding, through evidence, of faith actors in humanitarianism and development.

JLI co-organized with the World Council of Churches and UN Environment Programme the webinar ‘Save Children’s Lives: Climate-Responsible Banking’ on July 3, 2024.

The event provided an update on the May 2022 appeal “Climate-Responsible Finance – A moral imperative and responsibility to all children and the living world.”

The objectives of the webinar were to increase awareness of how investments into new fossil fuel expansion imperil the wellbeing of children, youth and future generations, as well as to advance actions of faith-based actors, their partners and constituents, holding accountable those investing in fossil fuels. The event illustrated how climate-responsible banking can help to tackle root-causes of desertification, and serve as a milestone towards the UN Summit of the Future.
