Members of local communities are often excluded from decision-making on how to prevent violent extremism (PVE). Yet without the critical insights, experiences, and knowledge of people on the ground – most notably young people and faith actors – PVE initiatives are unlikely to be effective in creating long-lasting, meaningful social cohesion, justice and peace and indeed risk causing harm to communities.
Through a new research capacity building project, JLI, in partnership with iDove, has supported 12 young people from across Africa, Asia and Europe, to create original, independent evidence and research on youth, faith, and PVE in their local contexts.
Tune into this event and learn from our participants as they present their final research outputs, spanning themes such as mental health, art and storytelling, education, and religion, as well as share their reflections on conducting PVE research in their contexts.
