Despite the internationally shared understanding that nuclear weapons are inhumane and thus should never be used, they continue to be framed as a key part of international security and, ironically, peace.  Many view nuclear weapons as a necessary evil, especially in the recent, ever-changing political climate marked by rising tensions in some regions of the world. Simultaneously, young people feel distant from the issue, either from the lack of awareness or because they feel they do not have the ability to make a difference.
