The 2020 US election is now over, but the new political landscape in America remains uncertain as COVID-19 continues to wreak havoc at home and abroad. With 69 days until a new U.S. administration assumes power, the conversations at PeaceCon 2020 will more important than ever. Taking place virtually December 7-9 and hosted in partnership with the U.S. Institute of Peace, PeaceCon 2020 is an opportunity to come together, share best practices, and build common cause at a critical inflection point for the United States and the world.

We hope you’ll sign up today and help spread the word on this unique global gathering.  PeaceCon 2020 will convene peacebuilders, policymakers, activists, and philanthropists to address the shifting world order and how best to take on global fragility, violent extremism, systemic racism, exclusion, and climate disruption, among other issues. PeaceCon will also consider strategies to elevate and integrate peacebuilding in our collective effort to shape a more just, secure and peaceful future in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic. Confirmed speakers include the McCain Institute’s Ambassador Mark Green, Ford Foundation President Darren Walker, Times Up CEO Tina Tchen, Dr. John Paul Lederach, Congresswoman Grace Meng and many more.

The agenda is now live and addresses the most pressing issues of this moment — from supporting local peacebuilders and integrating peacebuilding in pandemic response/recovery and fragility frameworks; to interreligious and environmental peacebuilding, social entrepreneurship, and learning and evaluation innovation; to building resilience and inclusion in our organizations; to peacebuilding approaches to counter systemic racism, weaponization of social media, and violent extremism. New sessions are being added to consider policy priorities and shifts under a new U.S. administration and narratives to counter rising U.S. polarization.

PeaceCon passes cover all three-days of the event, December 7-9, with discounted admission for AfP members, as well as students and youth. Thanks to the generous sponsorship of Humanity United and individual donors, local peacebuilder can attend PeaceCon free of charge. All registration information can be found here.  Please join AfP and peacebuilders from around the globe in #ShapingWhatComesNext this December 7-9!
