The Jesuit Refugee Service (JRS) in Italy, known as Centro Astalli, has offices in Rome, Trento, Vicenza, Palermo and Catania, offering a range of services including legal aid, healthcare, language classes, material and psychosocial support, and help to find employment.

JRS wanted to give a voice to those who agreed to share their experience in Sicily to highlight the urgent need for changes in Italy’s reception system. They hope their experiences and insights will be heeded and that more realistic measures will be put in place to effectively ensure respect for the human dignity and basic rights of all refugees and forced migrants.
