This article examines the role of local faith actors in institutional responses to refugees (henceforth refugee response), first in relation to global policy guidelines and frameworks promoted through the Global Compact for Refugees (GCR) affirmed by the UN General Assembly in December 2018, and then in regard to local faith actors’ own experiences and reimaginings of policy concepts as relevant to their own contexts.
