KAICIID Mapping Dialogue for Peace: http://www.kaiciid.org/what-we-do/knowledge/mapping-dialogue-peace

The Peace Mapping Programme aims to:

  • display the breadth of interreligious dialogue (IRD) activities promoted by international organizations;
  • analyze the many ways its practitioners engage in interreligious and intercultural understanding, and promote peacebuilding, either directly or indirectly;
  • describe interreligious dialogue activities in the context of, and in relation to vulnerability and stabilizing factors;
  • provide a website that can network practitioners of interreligious dialogue;
  • become a central part of the KAICIID knowledge hub on interreligious dialogue by broadening users’ knowledge about dialogue initiatives and actors around the world, as well as the complex ways in which IRD relates to contemporary human challenges.

In its first phase, the Peace Mapping Programme:

  • locates over 400 organizations active internationally in the promotion of interreligious dialogue through concrete action in its Interreligious Dialogue Directory;
  • presents, via an interactive world map, an overview of these organizations;
  • explores the historical development of these organizations through its Timeline;
  • promotes understanding of the complex environment in which these organizations operate (see Peace Factors);
  • explores the diversity of threats facing our global community through its Thematic Maps;
  • showcases testimonies of persons acting in their communities to bridge religious differences and contribute to greater social cohesion through its Dialogue Voices.
