This event will explore the transformative role of inner change in addressing global challenges linked to differing ideologies in global social protection challenges, spanning migrant rights, gender equality, child protection, racial justice, climate action, and inclusive development. Grounded in the principles of solidarity, social inclusion, and social cohesion, the session will feature opening remarks from leadership representatives of the Center for Ecumenical & Interreligious Engagement and the Joint Learning Initiative on Faith & Local Communities underscoring the importance of interfaith collaboration in driving collective social change across these critical areas.
Participants will engage in an interactive Sharing Circle session inspired by Gestalt Theory, encouraging personal reflection and holistic transformation. This approach aligns with the Inner Development Goals (IDGs) framework, which emphasizes cultivating inner qualities essential for sustainable development. The session will provide a safe space for participants to connect, share insights, and foster empathy on key issues such as gender and racial justice, climate change, and community resilience. It will also explore how these discussions align with the core values of faith-based organizations, which play a vital role in guiding ethical leadership and promoting social justice in a rapidly changing world.
A particular emphasis will be placed on youth participation, inviting young voices to share their experiences that are shaped by their unique perspectives, values and drivers to address the challenges posed in achieving a world where there is enough for all.
Refreshments and finger food will be provided and a reception will conclude this event with an opportunity for connection and active, thoughtful listening, reinforcing the values of social cohesion, solidarity, and global progress in addressing the interconnected challenges of our time and greater shared impact.
