Faith Communities UNITE to End Gender-Based Violence
On December 10th, the final day of the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence, JLI proudly released a collaborative video featuring 16 voices from our team, board members, and Gender-Based Violence (GBV) Hubs leadership. This video is a testament to our unwavering commitment to mobilizing faith communities to address and prevent GBV globally.
The video highlights 16 concrete actions that individuals, faith communities, and organizations can take to prevent GBV and support survivors. From challenging harmful gender norms to advocating for stronger policies, these actions emphasize that ending violence against women and girls is a collective responsibility.
Why This Campaign Matters
Globally, 1 in 3 women experience violence in their lifetime. GBV undermines dignity, safety, and equality, with devastating effects on individuals, families, and communities. Faith communities hold unique influence in shaping values and behaviors, making them key allies in the fight against GBV.
Through this campaign, JLI has demonstrated the transformative power of faith in addressing GBV, while amplifying the voices of faith leaders and practitioners who are actively working to create a violence-free world. This initiative underscores JLI’s commitment to fostering faith-led solutions to GBV, as showcased through our Learning Hubs, research, and advocacy.
