About JLI

An international collaboration on evidence for faith actors’ activities, contributions, and challenges to achieving humanitarian and development goals. Founded in 2012, JLI came together with a single shared conviction: there is an urgent need to build our collective understanding, through evidence, of faith actors in humanitarianism and development.

DFID will be holding a session during Interfaith Week on the role of faith communities in tackling women and girls.

SGBV Hub Member Dr. Helen Liebling will be speaking at the session. Other staff and representatives from FBOs and NGOs working on tackling violence against women and girls will also be attending.

This event aims to explore:

  • What is the role of faith communities in tackling violence against women and girls?
  • What are the challenges and opportunities for DFID in engaging in this agenda?
  • What are the opportunities and challenges that faith leaders and communities present in preventing and ending sexual violence and in responding to the needs of survivors
