An example of their work can be seen with their disaster response to the earthquake in Nepal. DFID provided over 220,000 people impacted by the Nepal earthquake with emergency shelter such as tarpaulin sheets, and over 60,000 people with more substantive temporary shelter which will tide people over as they rebuild their homes
