Jean Duff, JLIF&LC, and Manu Gupta, ADRRN, open the side event “One Humanity, Shared Responsibilities: Evidence for Religious Groups’ Contributions to Humanitarian Response” on behalf of co-organizers and introduce objectives of the Side Event:
- Provide recommendations for fuller partnership with religious communities in humanitarian and conflict responses
- Present the evidence base and orient attendees to in-depth resources accessible through the organizers’ online platforms
- Equip religious leaders and FBOs with the evidence for enhancing their own capacity and to ground advocacy for faith-based contributions to humanitarian response, particularly in conflict settings
- Equip policymaker and practitioners with the information they need to make evidence-based decisions regarding full and appropriate engagement of religious and faith-based groups in humanitarian action
