About JLI

An international collaboration on evidence for faith actors’ activities, contributions, and challenges to achieving humanitarian and development goals. Founded in 2012, JLI came together with a single shared conviction: there is an urgent need to build our collective understanding, through evidence, of faith actors in humanitarianism and development.

On October 12, 2023, JLI held a Religions, Humanitarianism & Development Reading Group session where Dr Christine Schliesser presented her book ‘’On the Significance of Religion for the SDGs. An Introduction’. She was joined by Dr. Azza Karam who contributed to chapter 6 ‘“Holistic Healing” – Religion Matters for Good Health and Well-Being (SDG 3)’. The presentation was followed by a Q&A session.
