Hear from Indigenous Women leaders – the realities of their nations, how indigenous women are being particularly impacted, and Indigenous Women’s priorities and demands.

Indigenous Peoples protect 50% of the world’s land, but Indigenous Peoples territories, lands, sacred sites and resources continue to be stolen, seized, militarized, and/or threatened without Free, Prior and Informed Consent. Indigenous Peoples bodies, water, air, and land disproportionately bear the brunt of environmental pollution and climate change, and Indigenous women are particularly impacted.

Moderator: Esmeralda Brown, President, Southern Diaspora Research and Development Center

Speakers:

  • Daryl Junes Joe, Diné, Navajo Nation
  • Prairie Rose Seminole, citizen of the Three Affiliated Tribes of ND, descendant of the Sahnish/Arikara, Hidatsa, Northern Cheyenne and Lakota Nations
  • Naomi Lanoi, Maasai

Story Telling: Raggatha Rain Calentine, Cherokee
