You are invited to participate in the Design Workshop following the Local Humanitarian Leadership Seminar in Beirut

Lunch will be provided

Background: IRW and LWF, in cooperation with JLI and consultation with UNHCR, began to work in 2016 on faith-sensitive approaches in humanitarian response. One result is this resource published in 2018: https://interagencystandingcommittee.org/system/files/faith-sensitive_humanitarian_response_2018.pdf

In October 2018 and May 2019, encouraged by UNHCR, IRW and JLI brought together representatives from a broader range of organisations, i.e. ACT Alliance, WorldVision, Tearfund, RedR, DCA Learning Lab, Muslim Hands and KAICIID, with the aim to build the capacity of humanitarian actors in faith-sensitivity. A first outline of a course was designed. In the meeting of May 2019 a need was expressed to hear from the people in the Middle East what the most urgent learning needs are when strengthening faith sensitivity in humanitarian response. A back-to-back meeting with the June 18th  Humanitarian Leadership seminar in Beirut will be held for feedback on the draft outline of the course and for new input.

Aims of the Design Workshop
1.  Joint design of a course on Faith-Sensitive Humanitarian Response.
2.  Specific agreements with those participants who would like to contribute to the course with their experiences, insights, stories or case studies.
